UPDATE ON MANDATORY CONSERVE WATER ORDER

The MANDATORY CONSERVE WATER ORDER issued on Monday, February 7, 2022 remains in effect.

Several small areas of problems have been repaired.  A major leak to a 12" main line in a remote area was discovered at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.  MTJMA personnel and subcontractors worked throughout the night to locate the precise location.  Repairs as of this notice are underway.  It is anticipated that repairs will be completed around 3:00 p.m. today.  As a result, our storage tanks feeding our Northern portion of our system were depleted.  DEP was alerted and the Authority was placed under a MANDATORY BOIL WATER ADVISORY for the Northern portion of our system (i.e. East Kittanning, Troy Hill area, Indian Hills, Green Brae, Erdley Plan, Route 85 area, Route 422 area, Wray Plan) expecting to last a minimum of 48 hours after the system is recharged.  This boil water advisory is for water used for drinking, food preparation, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and making ice.

For those customers that are out of water today, water is available at our office at 2310 Pleasant View Drive, Ford City by bringing your own container and filling through a yard hydrant in the front of our office.  Water is safe to use for laundry, showering and other sanitary purposes.

We will update this when information is available or when the conserve water order can be lifted.
